NHLBI ASTHMA CARE GUIDELINE REVISIONS ARE BEING CONSIDERED by the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute's National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Coordinating Committee. At the committee's Nov. 21 meeting in Bethesda, Md., NHLBI Division of Lung Diseases Director Suzanne Hurd said the institute has initiated the process for revision of the guidelines by requesting the NAEPP Science Base Committee to review all the scientific literature on asthma that has been published since introduction of the guidelines in 1991 ("The Pink Sheet" Feb. 11, 1991, p. 13) and make recommendations on how the guidelines could be changed.
