MEDI-CAL 10% SUPPLEMENTAL MANUFACTURER REBATE IS EFFECTIVE RETROSPECTIVE TO JULY 1; LEGISLATURE DOES NOT ADOPT PBM PROPOSAL FOR MEDI-CAL Rx DRUG BENEFIT

Medi-Cal has adopted a 10% supplemental manufacturer rebate under modifications to the California Medicaid program contained in legislation accompanying the 1994-1995 state budget. The new rebate law was signed by Gov. Pete Wilson (R) July 9 following passage by the legislature July 5. The 10% supplemental rebate is in effect from July 1 through June 1996 and does not include cancer or AIDS drugs.
