PHS CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST RULE MANDATES DISCLOSURE OF INTERESTS OVER $5,000 or over 5% of investigator ownership "that would reasonably appear to be directly and significantly affected" by Public Health Service-funded research. The proposed rule was published in the June 28 Federal Register and addresses responsibilities of individuals and institutions to disclose financial interests that may impinge upon the objectivity of PHS- supported research. It is open to public comment through Aug. 29.
