PTO 18-MONTH PATENT PUBLICATION PROPOSAL IS "PREMATURE," Patent & Trademark Office Commissioner Bruce Lehman said in written testimony submitted to Sen. DeConcini's (D-Ariz.) Judiciary/Patent Subcommittee. "One provision of DeConcini's Patent Simplification Act of 1994 (S 1854) would require patent applications to be open to public inspection and copies of the applications made available 18 months after filing ("The Pink Sheet" Feb. 21, T&G-12).
