Executive Summary
Center for Drug Evaluation & Research Deputy Director Gerald Meyer assumes acting director post Nov. 1 following retirement of former director Carl Peck to join Leiden University in The Netherlands as Boerhaave Professor of Clinical Drug Research. Meyer will retire from FDA in January. Candidates for permanent director of CDER are under consideration by Commissioner Kessler and Deputy Commissioner for Operations Jane Henney.
