Laderia/Mylan’s Maxzide

Executive Summary

Wheeling, W. Va. federal court jury rejects damages claim requested in a lawsuit filed by Mylan against Lederle over marketing of Maxzide (triamterene/hydrochlorothiazide). The lawsuit, filed in November 1990 ('The Pink Sheet" Dec. 10, 1990, T&G-2), asserted that Lederle did not use its best efforts to promote and sell the antihypertensive product. The jury also dismissed Lederle's counterclaims against Mylan for fraudulent inducement, breach of contract and defamation. The verdict followed a 28-day trial.
