HHS' Agency for Health Care Policy and Research's first deputy administrator is Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, who most recently was on the University of Pennsylvania faculty. Lavizzo-Mourey, who is board certified in internal and geriatric medicine, previously had been chief of internal medicine at the V-A Medical Center, Philadelphia, and also a faculty member at Temple University and Harvard medical schools.
