Executive Summary
Former SmithKline Beecham pharmaceutical group Chairman John Chappell named to the Woburn, Mass.-based company's board of directors. Chappell was a 27-year veteran of SmithKline's drug business. Upon the merger of SmithKline and Beecham, Chappell headed the SmithKline Beecham ethical drug business. He was succeeded by ex-Squibb President Jan Leschly in June 1990.
