FDA Commissioner search
Executive Summary
Albert Einstein Medical College says that the school has not yet been informed "in writing" of a decision by David Kessler to be the next FDA commissioner. Kessler, the medical director at the school, is still believed to be the leading candidate for the position. The Washington grapevine reports that his name has cleared White House approval and has been sent back to HHS for the final okay from Secretary Sullivan. HHS may have been given two approved names for the final choice. If there are two finalists, the other likely candidate is the director of the California Health Services Department, Kenneth Kizer.
