John Tupper, MD, a Davis, California-based internist, is installed as the association's 145th president during AMA's June 24-28 annual policy meeting in Chicago. Tupper was the founding dean of the University of California at Davis School of Medicine in 1966 and served as dean for the next 14 years. AMA's President-elect is John Ring, MD, a family practitioner from Mundelein, Illinois.
