Executive Summary
Voluntarily recalls three lots of triamterene-hydrochlorothiazide (generic Maxzide) tablets, 75 mg/50 mg, the company said in a July 31 release. Affected lot numbers are 811327-11/90, 811328-11/90 and 812382-12/90. According to the Bohemia, New York-based firm, recent studies showed that the three lots "may dissolve at a rate below product specifications." However, the remainder of the approximately 60 lots are "completely consistent" with FDA specifications, the company says. American Therapeutics is one of the companies named in bribery charges relating to the FDA generics division investigation.
