Cuts in range of $2-5 bil. predicted by Rep. Stark (D-Calif.) at a Jan. 31 meeting with reporters. The House Ways and Means health subcommittee chairman said deficit reduction will continue to be a top subcommittee agenda item and that the panel will develop reductions similar to those used in the past. "I can't really see that we'll do anything different than what we've done in previous years," he said. "That means we'll take some out of the hospitals and some out of the ]physicians[.".
