Former FDA Commissioner Arthur Hull Hayes expressed support for Young continuing on as commissioner through the Bush Administration at a Nov. 30 Health Industry Manufacturers Association conference. Hayes said: "I don't know if the present commissioner will be retained, [but] I can tell you that there is a strong feeling in industry, as well as in academia and government, that he ought [to stay], and I share that opinion" ....
