Squibb-Marsam preservative-free heparin

Executive Summary

The Squibb generic injectables joint venture announced its first product approval since the formation of the company in December 1985 -- heparin sodium injection, USP preservative free, in 5 ml ampuls containing 1000 units per ml. The Squibb-Marsam product is the fourth preservative-free heparin approved for marketing since March, when the lone supplier of the product in the U.S. developed contamination problems. The Squibb-Marsam product is available immediately, the firm reported.
