Merck explosion
Executive Summary
Supplies of Aldomet will be unaffected by an explosion and fire that occurred at Merck's methyldopa plant in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico on June 12, the firm said. Three people were killed and four others hospitalized. Damages are estimated by Merck to be "in excess of $10 mil." Merck has sent a team from its Rahway, N.J. headquarters to assist in the investigation.
