Executive Summary
Don Newman, who was recently appointed by HHS Secty. Bowen to deputy undersecty. and is expected to be nominated for undersecty., will receive the assn.'s Hubert H. Humphrey Award during APhA's annual meeting in San Francisco in March. Newman is a pharmacist who has operated drugstores in South Bend and Mishawaka, Indiana. He has directed the state of Indiana's Washington office since 1973, when then-Gov. Bowen hired him for the position.
