Executive Summary
Former maximum fine of $1,000 per count for misdemeanor violations under FD&C Act has been increased to $100,000 for misdemeanor by corporation or individual not resulting in death, $250,000 for misdemeanor by individual resulting in death, and $500,000 for misdemenaor by a corporation resulting in death. The changes are required by the Criminal Fine Enforcement Act of 1984. "The Pink Sheet" incorrectly reported an increase to a $5,000 maximum (Nov. 11, In Brief).
