Chairman Hatch's Senate Labor & Human Resources Cmte. is planning June 5 hearings on the export issue to get the legislative process started. Early June date was chosen to fit Sen. Kennedy's schedule. Kennedy could be a key figure in assuring consideration of the bill by Chairman Waxman's House Health Subcmte. Kennedy has been more favorably inclined to overseas use of U.S. drugs since his recent tour of African relief sites.
