Denmark is to introduce an electronic patient journal (EPJ) system, in an effort to improve the quality, effectiveness and service of patient care. The health ministry, the national board of health, the national organisation of councils and the capital's hospitals association have laid down principles for the standardisation and distribution of the EPJ, with the aim of introducing it into the hospital system.
